Mike started his working life at the head office of the Provincial Insurance Company in Kendal moving with them to East Africa, en route to Australia. He never got to Australia but stayed in East Africa for seven and a half years. By this time Mike was working for a Lloyds Broker for whom he then set up new operations in the Seychelles and Saudi Arabia where he set up and managed a local insurance company for a large American insurance group. This led to the formation of an expatriates financial advisory business in Saudi Arabia. After a brief spell at Lloyds of London, Mike continued his financial services career with Equitable Life and Clerical Medical for 15 years before forming an IFA firm in Windermere. He joined Helm Godfrey in June 2007. Mike has broad experience in dealing with high net worth individuals and concentrates on investment management (including portfolios within pensions and trust funds), tax and estate planning. He is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and is a member of the Institute of Financial Planning. His out of office interests include golf, tennis, skiing, sailing and collecting uisge beatha!
