Financial planning and feeling OK about money

When we take on a new client, the first step is often the most important – the initial meeting. This is where I find out more about your situation, wants and needs in a ‘fact finding’ exercise. I find out what sort of advice you require, discuss what we have to offer and see if we can help you with your financial needs. Obviously every client is completely different, but while the specifics may change, the fundamental desires of clients are very similar. Most people just want to feel that things are OK with their money. I help them to do that. Following this first meeting, we then agree the next steps moving forward. These can vary from client to client. Sometimes you may have further questions for us; other times we may need a bit more information from you. Once we feel we have everything we need, we write with recommendations for you, based on the information we have. This will then be followed by either a meeting or a phone call, after which your financial plan is put in place. We keep our clients involved at every step of the way of creating this plan, and the most important thing is that you are happy and comfortable with what is being put in place. Once you are happy with the plan, we agree how frequently you wish to review it. Again, different clients have different wants, with some requiring frequent updates and others only being updated annually. Whatever timing we agree, we always make you aware that you can contact us at any time to discuss your plan. Your financial wellbeing and happiness is the most important thing. At Helm Godfrey we understand that people need to feel happy about their money, and we are always on hand to help.
